25.06.2023 - bloody roadworks and motorised morons

After spending now over two weeks with several friends in the UK, I'm on my way to Hannover for a short pit stop.
It has been wonderful to see my friends and spending time with them but now it's time to move on. I do miss the solitude of travelling by myself. Something I never thought I'd say.

The weather in the UK has been very nice, way nicer then it ever was when I visited with my motorbike. Maybe it's a massage!?

At this minute I'm on the ferry to Hook van Holland, which should arrive around 8:00 tomorrow morning.

The drive to the ferry was not really good. I lost count how many roadworks and traffic jams I was in. It should have taken me about 5 hours but instead it took me 7h. Half an hour later I couldn't have taken the ferry. Lucky me...
At least my cabin I has a double bed and a big porthole, yay!

Customs took a little longer but they were nice and friendly. Maybe we should the German custom people there to get trained!?
The drive home was pretty uneventful, except for the occasional traffic jam and a few motorised morons.

At home I need to take care of a few things and wat for one or two parcels to arrive, but in about a week I should be back on the road, heading for Finland.
