The world and I - Five

I guess at this time of year, a lot of people think about the past year, what is worth remembering from it and how the next one should (could is probably better) be.

For me, it was a good year. Even though my timeout/holiday didn't go as planned, not even half as I had planned it, it was still a good one, and I learned more about myself.
Isn't that the way it's supposed to be? I think so!

Sure, there were some setbacks, like my sister having lung cancer for the second time. Somethingthat hit me harder this time, than I thought it would.
I'm still struggling with my “new” found, or better rediscovered, sensitivity. Something I had all along, but wasn't aware of it or didn't want to know about.
Well, getting older must have some benefits, right?

However, even though a lot of us think that the world is getting worse, it actually isn't. The difference is that now we get informed or mostly misinformed about everything thing that is happening.
Our brain just isn't made for so much information, especially in the form we now mostly receive it, videos.

Every decade, there was something terrible happening in the near future. In the eighties, they thought we might get another ice age, apart from nuclear war just being around the corner and now the climate change (I know I forgot some).
I know it is real, but nobody can say what is going to happen because the climate it is such a complex thing. We still have trouble predicting the weather for more than a day or two, and now we're trying to predict something that is going to happen in 5-10 years.
Of course, they could be right. Also, it could be worse or better. Basically, we don't really know.

So, let's try to do as much as we can to prevent it, but also let's not fall into the trap of the past and live in fear!
