Changes changes changes changes

Well, not as many as you might think but I did go back and forth for a while and then finally decided in favour of a road-trip.

I like the idea to have the possibility to stop almost wherever I want and spend the night. Being able to sleep in my own bed and if it's raining to stay somewhere with a great view and work on my blog or read etc. sounds rather appealing.

Also I believe a mini-camper is the perfect solution for slow travelling. Something I like to become an expert in!

Since I made that decision I've been searching for a suitable van. Not an easy task if I'm honest because I haven't found one yet. Well, I did find one or three but with the bad weather we've had, I couldn't ride my motorbike anywhere to go for a test drive.

This is the main reason for my decision to postpone my trip for a month to the 1st of June. That way I have more time to find a van and to find or build a modular Box/Bed thingy - something like the Biberbox.

The reason to go for a modular box instead of a permanent mini-camper build is quite simple. Firstly I like to be able to use my van in everyday life and secondly a van build takes time and money. Two things, I have to stack up on after my return.

After doing some more research on what other mini-camper do or don’t recommend, I discovered what else I might need or like to have on a four months long trip.

This my list so far:

  • modular box/bed combination

  • folding mattress

  • bigger gas stove

  • power station with a solar panel

  • camping toilet

  • Mosquito net

  • cooling box

  • solar shower

  • foldable storage containers

  • awning
