EasterTET - Part one

After getting my motorbike, actually before, a friend and I talked about going away with our motorbikes. Just a short trip to get used to them and also do some TET (Trans European Trail - https://transeurotrail.org/) kilometres.

I’m certainly not the best off-road rider but if I don’t exercise, I will not get better. So, off we go towards Poland over Easter, hence the name.

We’re going to leave our tends etc. at home and travel as light as we fell comfortable. For me, that means 14Kg incl. the soft luggage itself. I believe 11Kg are not a lot, especially when you know that the tools (5Kg) are the heaviest thing you take.
On a long distance trip, this one is only going to be around the 1200Km, I’d take a little more but still be under 25Kg in total.
That’s a lot less than on my first trip to Mongolia, when I took about 35Kg excl. the soft panniers.

Our plan is to ride towards Cottbus, cross the border by Łęknica and then ride most of the section 3 of the Polish TET. Hopefully the weather is going to be dry and fairly warm.

The Polish TET has apparently a fair amount of sand to offer. Have I ever mentioned that I hate sand? Well, I do with avenges, but my new bike is very different from what I have ever ridden before, so it should be less of a fight for me (he says, and crosses his fingers behind his back).

Anyhow, I'll try to make some videos and take some pictures, but I'm only taking my helmet camera (which qualitywise isn't the best) and one lens for my OM5 to keep the bulk down.
Travelling light is key!

Which means that I'm not taking a laptop, which also means that I won't be blogging from the track as to speak, but rather do a write-up when I get back. If there's nothing to write about, there will be at least be some pictures (I hope).
